The Playfair Putter was donated by Col WD Playfair to Cargie Rymill in 1924 (the putter was purchased in 1832 by Col Playfair’s grandfather) and first played in 1925. In 2018 Tony Timmins created a replica putter which is now used as the perpetual trophy and presented annually to the winner. The event is a Stroke play competition over 36 holes for eligible male members with a Golf Australia handicap of 9.2 or less. The best aggregate gross score determines the annual winner of the Playfair Putter.
