Thank you to all our reciprocal friends and Kooyonga members who joined us for the Kooyonga Invitational Challenge over the long weekend! We had a field of 56 participants, including 34 players visiting from 13 interstate reciprocal Clubs. It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase our club to our reciprocal guests who spoke in glowing terms about the outstanding food, service, golf and organisation of a fabulous event. We truly value the information sharing and common bonds that we share with our reciprocal clubs and continue to look for opportunities to strengthen these relationships. We have no doubt this event exceeded the expectations of participants and will only enhance our reputation. We thank members for their support and understanding that reciprocal and interclub events are important for the Club, acknowledging that tee access was restricted over the weekend for members choosing not to participate in the event.
Congratulations to Kooyonga member Michael Gilroy who won the R&A plate with a two round stableford score of 68 followed by George Giotis, runner up on 65. Congratulations also to Scott Nicolson from Metropolitan Golf Club who won best individual reciprocal guest with 65. David Conacher and Melissa Webster from The Australian won the fourball event with a two round score of 86, 5 shots clear of George Giotis and Chris Atsikbasis on 81.
