What a wonderful week it has been for us at Kooyonga as we proudly hosted the 2026 women\u2019s Australian Open. Over four days of world-class golf, our course was showcased on the international stage and presented in outstanding condition. The feedback from players, broadcasters, officials and visitors has been overwhelmingly positive, with many commenting on both the outstanding quality of the course and the exceptional hospitality experienced throughout the week.<\/p>\n

Events of this scale are only possible through the collective efforts of many people, and we would like to sincerely thank everyone who played a role in making the tournament such a success.<\/p>\n

Thank you to members for your support, patience and enthusiasm in the lead up to and throughout the event. Hosting a national championship requires significant preparation and temporary changes around the Club, and we greatly appreciate the understanding shown by members as we worked with Golf Australia to deliver the tournament.<\/p>\n

A special thank you goes to the entire course team, led by Richard James, Course Superintendent, who worked tirelessly to present the course in magnificent condition.\u00a0 Richard and his course team through their high level of expertise and dedication have enhanced the Club’s reputation as a championship venue.<\/p>\n

Thank you to our hospitality team lead by Food & Beverage Manager, Kylie Christie and Head Chef, Stewart Green. From early mornings to late finishes, the team ensured that members, guests, players, officials, and spectators were all warmly welcomed and well looked after in each area of hospitality. Their commitment to service played an important role in showcasing Kooyonga and contributing to the success of the tournament.<\/p>\n

We also extend our thanks to our administration and golf operations teams who worked behind the scenes and on the front line throughout the week to ensure the experience for players, officials, media and spectators was seamless.<\/p>\n

To the amazing 500+ volunteers, many of whom are Kooyonga members and the team led by Scott Duval and Mark Kelly, thank you for generously giving your time to assist with marshalling, scoring and supporting tournament operations. Your contribution played an important role in the smooth running of the tournament.<\/p>\n

We would also like to acknowledge Golf Australia, the partners, sponsors, broadcasters and suppliers who worked closely with the Club to bring the event together and deliver such a professional tournament.<\/p>\n

Hosting the 2026 women\u2019s Australian Open is a moment of great pride for Kooyonga and one that will remain an important chapter in the Club\u2019s history. Thank you again to all members and volunteers who helped make the week such a memorable occasion.<\/p>\n

We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the course and returning to normal Club operations over the coming days.<\/p>\n
