which squad is for your child?

The Kooyonga coaching team is excited to announce the introduction of Operation 36. This will be the framework for our junior golf program and consists of coaching, playing and training. Each golfer will be issued a profile in the Operation 36 Mobile App to track progress through a six level curriculum that is designed to set appropriate objectives and challenge each student towards shooting par (score of 36) or better for 9 holes.

K1 SQUAD

FUNDAMENTALS (6-8 years)

This 8-Week Junior Academy Program uses the Operation 36 Curriculum to guide students on learning skills, testing students on these skills and tracking them in the Op36 Mobile App. The Mobile App is a great resource for students to log play/practice and also to review the Skill videos each week from the Operation 36 Curriculum. FUNDAMENTALS This is an early introduction into the game and first step into developing the necessary fundamentals required to build a strong foundation for the game.

LEARNING TO TRAIN (9-11 years)

This 8-Week Junior Academy Program uses the Operation 36 Curriculum to guide students on learning skills, testing students on these skills and tracking them in the Op36 Mobile App. The Mobile App is a great resource for students to log play/practice and also to review the Skill videos each week from the Operation 36 Curriculum. LEARNING TO TRAIN These academy classes will introduce juniors to new shot types around the green and developing their full swing ball flight skills.

K3 SQUAD
TRAINING TO TRAIN (12-16 years)

This 8-Week Junior Academy Program uses the Operation 36 Curriculum to guide students on learning skills, testing students on these skills and tracking them in the Op36 Mobile App. The Mobile App is a great resource for students to log play/practice and also to review the Skill videos each week from the Operation 36 Curriculum. TRAINING TO TRAIN The K3 squad improves upon finesse golf techniques to bring juniors up to a more competent level and how to create shots when dealing with adversity.

K4 SQUAD

TRAINING TO COMPETE

Our Saturday members program is aimed at training our intermediate juniors between handicaps 26-45 who have created a solid foundation in their golf skills.  Juniors participating in this squad will use the Operation 36 mobile to track training sessions to help build deliberate training plans and identify weaknesses in their game. Playing on course competitions following the class will allow the juniors to attempt to transfer their new skills to the golf course.  This class will introduce Vision54s human skill program of Think Box, Play Box & Memory Box activities to develop a consistent shot-routine for higher success on the course.

HANDICAP 26-45 (MEMBERS)

Saturday afternoons
2.00pm to 3.30pm followed by on course competition

K5 SQUAD

TRAINING TO WIN

Aimed at the experienced junior member with handicaps between 12-25 will focus on score improvement training through challenging skills tests for both full swing and short game to handle pressure scenarios and edge their games towards an elite level. Using golf statistics and on course training will be paramount to accelerating their psychological development hence the continuation with the Vision54 program, juniors will learn more about Emotional Resilience, Self-Talk and Managing Variability training. Golf Strategy and developing game plans will be continued to be developed.

HANDICAP 12-25 (MEMBERS)

Saturday afternoons
2.00pm to 3.30pm followed by on course competition

K6 SQUAD

HIGH PERFORMANCE

This program aims to fast-track our elite junior players. Using state-of-the-art technology including high speed cameras, Trackman, Sam PuttLab, BodiTrak and 3D bio analysis, we aim to help juniors reach their goals. Including 3 sessions per week and a focus on scoring ability, this program will harness and hone our elite players towards tournament success. Players must play 27 holes each week.

Key development areas with a holistic approach; Strength and conditioning, fitness, golf physiotherapy and psychology.
